Edye was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She has resided here in Jacksonville most of her life, being educated locally and working her way up to a management level accounting position with the Winn-Dixie Corporation, serving as a civil service employee at the Air National Guard, and then as administrative assistant both at Deerwood Country Club and the American National Bank. She and her husband, Mickey, served as Refugee Coordinators for the Episcopal Diocese of Florida where they were blessed to help many refugees from Cuba, Iran, Poland, Bosnia and Russia get acclimated to their new homes. In addition, she has served in various other Church ministries:  Cursillo Renewal (Diocese of Florida), St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and Day School, Staff to the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida and in 1996 promoted to Executive Assistant to the Rev. Dr. Robert V.  Lee III at FreshMinistries for 25 years and currently serving as a consultant.
